If you’re preparing for your exams in October 2024, there’s a crucial update you must be aware of. N Sport has released a notification announcing significant changes in the theory exams, TM marks, and practical examination (PCP) classes. These changes could lead to many students failing, so it’s essential to understand what’s new and avoid common mistakes. In this article, I’ll guide you through the updates and explain what you need to do to succeed.

Changes in Theory Exams

First, let’s talk about the theory exams. According to the notification, there are several major changes:

1. Additional Reading Time: You will now have an extra 15 minutes to read the question paper before starting the exam.

2. Answer Sheet Limitation: From now on, you will only receive one answer sheet with 32 pages. You must complete all your answers within these 32 pages, as no extra sheets will be provided.

3. Multiple Question Paper Sets: The exam will have three different sets of question papers—Set A, Set B, and Set C. These will be distributed in such a way that students sitting next to each other receive different sets. This seating arrangement is designed to prevent cheating, which was a significant issue in the April exams.

4. New Exam Pattern: The exam pattern has also been completely revised. If you’ve been preparing based on previous patterns, you might be in trouble. The syllabus, question types, and even the format have all changed.

Why Preparation is More Important Than Ever

To avoid failure, it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with the new pattern. N Sport has released the question papers from the April 2024 exams, which you can download and review. Understanding this new format is key to your success. Section A will primarily consist of objective-type questions, while Section B will require more detailed, well-structured answers. If you’re still studying the old patterns, it’s time to switch gears and focus on the latest format.

The Importance of PCP Classes

Another significant issue concerns PCP classes. In the past, students who did not attend these classes either failed or were marked as absent due to the lack of practical marks. This year, attending these classes is more important than ever. You must attend five PCP classes, starting from August 1st. These classes are crucial for earning 20 marks—10 for attendance and 10 for submitting your practical file.

If your study center isn’t conducting PCP classes, don’t worry. As long as you submit your practical file and attend at least one class, you will still receive the marks. If you’re unsure about how to prepare your practical file, you can download a solved PDF or order a handmade practical file from the link provided.

Practical Exams and Viva

For those centers not holding PCP classes, ensure that your practical file is well-prepared and ready for submission. You’ll also need to be ready for the viva, where you’ll be asked a few basic questions about your subject. Even if you’re not attending classes, submitting your file and participating in the viva are essential to passing.

TMA Marks and Deadlines

The deadline for submitting TM marks has been extended to August 16th. If you haven’t uploaded your marks yet, do so immediately. The S Board has already started uploading marks, and if you don’t see them on your dashboard, they should appear by September 15th.

Stream Two and Block Two Students

If you’re a Stream Two or Block Two student, there are specific guidelines you need to follow. Stream Two students, who have failed in their 10th or 12th exams from CBSE or another board, do not need to take TM or PCP classes. Your exam will focus on three subjects, and the marks for the other two will be transferred. However, Block Two students must submit TM and attend PCP classes.
