Blocking Pornhub in the US — Canada’s ultimate trade war power move?

As trade tensions between Canada and the United States escalate, one Canadian comedian has proposed an unexpected retaliation—blocking US access to Pornhub, the Montreal-based adult website.

Toronto comedian Matthew Puzhitsky suggested the move in a viral Instagram video, calling it Canada’s “nuclear weapon” in the trade war. “If Canada could ban Pornhub in the States, we win the trade war. That’s it. There is no trade war,” Puzhitsky told The Post.

The petition gains traction

Following Puzhitsky’s suggestion, a petition has been launched urging Canadian authorities to block Pornhub as a “peaceful yet powerful” response to the trade dispute.

US reactions: Panic and disbelief

The proposal has left some Americans shocked at the prospect of losing access to one of the most visited adult websites in the US, which reportedly attracts over 3 million views a month.

“If they take away my access to Pornhub, I’m moving out of the US,” one concerned Manhattan user told The Post.

Others expressed disbelief that Canada would take such drastic action. “Canadians wouldn’t do that to us…would they?” asked another New Yorker. “I thought they were supposed to be nice.”

A premature move?

Some Americans urged caution, noting that trade negotiations are still ongoing. “It’s a big move,” one US resident warned. “Let’s not be hasty, Canada!”

While the petition remains in its early stages, the debate over whether Canada should use its adult entertainment industry as a bargaining chip in the trade war is already making waves.
