In a vicious murder, 65-year-old Joseph Donohue, a Boston lawyer was stabbed multiple times to death over the weekend in his houseboat. According to local reports, the attack was so cruel that the knife blade had snapped off and lodged in his skull while the rest of the weapon was recovered from the water by divers. Police found the body of one of his dogs in the water.
Donohue was also wrapped and duct-taped into a rug and blanket with dumbells tied around him.
Nora Nelson, a 24-year-old woman, has been arrested in connection with the murder over unrelated warrants.
Police went to the houseboat when Donogue lived alone with his two dogs after his son hadn’t heard from him for days. Nora Nelson was at the scene and was the only person at the scene when police arrived. Despite the arrest, many questions remain unanswered as to how Nelson knew Donohue, how the dog was killed, where the other dog went etc. CBS News reported that Nelson has a previous arrest in 2023 for allegedly assaulting her ex-boyfriend in a dispute.
“Our family is heartbroken by this unimaginable loss. Joe was a wonderful family member, a cherished friend, and a trusted colleague,” Donohue’s family said in a statement. “Always generous and kind, he dedicated his life and career to helping others. He is loved and will be deeply missed.”
