‘Commendable accomplishment’: PM Modi hails RBI for winning Digital Transformation Award 2025





Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a social media platform X post on Sunday, March 16, congratulated the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for winning the UK’s Digital Transformation Award 2025 by Central Banking on March 14. 

PM Narendra Modi highlighted RBI’s efforts and said that this achievement is commendable and shows the central bank’s efforts towards ‘innovation and efficiency’ in good governance.

“A commendable accomplishment, reflecting an emphasis towards innovation and efficiency in governance,” said Prime Minister Modi in his post on X, appreciating the Reserve Bank of India. 

PM Modi also focused on digital innovations contributing as a key factor for strengthening the Indian financial system, which is aimed at empowering many lives.

“Digital innovation continues to strengthen India’s financial ecosystem, thus empowering countless lives,” said PM Modi in his post on X. 

RBI’s Digital Transformation Award 2025 Win

India’s central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), was selected for the Central Banking’s Digital Transformation Award 2025 in London, United Kingdom, on Friday, March 14.

In a social media post on platform X, RBI announced that the win was driven by recognising its initiatives, such as the Pravaah and Sarthi systems, which were developed in-house. 

“The Reserve Bank of India has been selected for the Digital Transformation Award 2025 by Central Banking, London, UK,” said RBI in its post.

RBI’s Sarthi system is a digital initiative which the central bank developed to digitise the organisation’s internal workflow. The Pravaah is another initiative which was developed in-house and launched in May 2024. The platform serves as a digital portal through which external users can submit regulatory applications to the banking regulator.

People on the social media platform X appreciated PM Modi’s acknowledgement of the award win and also shared their opinion on the matter of “digitisation” in the Indian economy. 

“India is leading the race in digitalization and innovation when it comes to financial institutions,” said Neetu Khandelwal, responding to Modi’s post.

Another social media user named Tomi Point said, “India’s digital revolution keeps setting global benchmarks!”

There were also many netizens congratulating the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for securing this win and marking India back again on the global map.
