Kanye West has called on Donald Trump to secure the release of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who remains incarcerated on sex trafficking charges. The rapper made his plea in a social media post, writing, “@realDonaldTrump PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF.” His message comes as he recently followed Combs on Instagram, alongside only his wife, Bianca Censori.
This is a turnaround from last week, when Ye reshared a post stating that he only follows, Taylor Swift.

West and Combs have a long-standing musical relationship, having collaborated on tracks like “All Day,” “Sanctified,” and “Guard Down.” However, Combs’ legal troubles have overshadowed his career in recent months, with the music mogul facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse. Combs has denied the claims, and his legal team has described them as “publicity stunts” intended to taint public perception ahead of his trial.
The allegations against Combs include lawsuits filed by two women accusing him of drugging and coercing them into sexual acts in the 1990s. Prosecutors have charged him with sex trafficking, asserting that he operated a criminal enterprise involving violence and exploitation. He remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial scheduled for May 5. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
Meanwhile, West has been making headlines of his own following his controversial appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The rapper and his wife, Bianca Censori, caused a stir when she removed her black fur coat on the red carpet, revealing a sheer outfit. The moment, reportedly orchestrated by West to generate publicity for his album “Vultures 1,” sparked debate online. Legal experts have stated that Censori is unlikely to face charges, as her outfit did not meet the criteria for indecent exposure under California law.
Security at the event escorted the couple off the premises after their appearance on the red carpet, as they did not have official invitations to the ceremony. Despite the controversy, footage later emerged of the pair attending an afterparty, seemingly unfazed by the backlash.
Whether Trump will respond to West’s plea remains unclear, but the former president has previously granted clemency to high-profile figures, including rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
