If you’re a cricket fan or a foodie in Hyderabad, you’ll want to check out One8 Commune, the newest hotspot in Hitech City. Located on the first floor of the Loft building, this restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a celebration of cricket and delicious food, co-owned by cricket superstar Virat Kohli.

When you arrive at One8 Commune, you’ll see a colorful sign that says “Hyderabad Kohling!”—a fun tribute to Kohli’s ties with the city. It’s quickly become a favorite for selfies, with fans eager to snap a shot of the cricket-themed decor.

Inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting with light brown tones, wicker and cane furniture, and a view of the sleek metal-and-glass high-rise nearby. The mix of high and regular seating creates a relaxed vibe, perfect for an evening out. As night falls, the place comes alive with music, drinks, and a lively crowd.

The decor has a strong cricket influence, highlighted by a glass display featuring Kohli’s jersey, which he digitally signed during a visit with his RCB team. It’s a popular spot for unique photos.

The menu is a mix of Kohli’s favorites and local dishes. A standout is the “Mushroom Cream Avocado Cheese Googly,” a creative take on dim sum with a beetroot-infused wrap. The creamy cheese, avocado, and shiitake mushrooms, with a touch of truffle oil, offer a rich and flavorful bite.

For drinks, the bar offers some interesting choices. The “Trophy Pour” is a shareable drink made with blue pea flower tea, gin, and vodka. The “Mango Picante” has a spicy kick with mango and tequila, and it’s a great option if you’re not in the mood for something too strong.

Chef Agnibh Mudi, who manages the menu, explains: “We have eight restaurants across the country, each featuring Virat’s favorites and local specialties. In Hyderabad, we’ve added regional flavors like Byadgi Mirchi Paneer, Lime Chilli Pickled Spicy Prawns, and Hyderabadi Khatti Dal. We’re even working on a soy version of Haleem.”

The Byadgi Mirchi Paneer packs a punch with its chili spice, while the Lime Chilli Pickled Spicy Prawns offer a zesty touch with curry leaves. For something milder, the Avocado Flatbread is a refreshing choice.

The menu also includes a variety of modern Indian, regional, Asian, and Continental dishes—from pizzas and mutton Rogan Josh to laksa and classic pasta dishes like Penne Grilled Salmon.

Dessert options include Tiramisu Cornetto, Burnt Basque Cheesecake, and Coconut Tres Leches. I skipped dessert on my visit due to the mosquitoes while dining al fresco, but it’s definitely worth trying.

Overall, One8 Commune is more than just a restaurant; it’s a vibrant spot where cricket meets cuisine. Whether you’re a cricket fan or just looking for a great meal, this place is definitely worth a visit.
