Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar’s Patna. The Prime Minister mentioned Rajasthan Royals teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi in his inauguration address.
PM Modi says, “We all have seen the outstanding performance of the son of Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, in IPL. Vaiabhav has created such a big record at this young age. Behind his game, there is his labour for sure, but playing matches at different levels has also helped him. It means ‘jo jitna khelega, wo utna khilega’…”
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s dream start
Rajasthan Royals’ Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old left-hander from Bihar, has managed to grab the attention of global audience in just five matches. He smashed the first ball for a six on his IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants. He smashed the fastest century by an Indian in his third IPL innings against Rajasthan Royals. At 14 years and 32 days, it was also the youngest century by a batter in Indian Premier League.
Khelo India Youth Games 2025
Khelo India Youth Games 2025 is set to run from May 4 to May 15 in five cities. The competition comprises 27 competitive sports and 1 demo sport. E-Sports has been introduced for the first ever time in Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG). Apart from Patna, four other cities – Rajgir, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Begusarai – will be hosting the events.
