Tariff war: Trump administration could drop tariffs on China to 50–65% amid pending talks with Beijing, says report





The Trump administration is weighing a potential rollback of sharply increased tariffs on Chinese imports, pending new negotiations with Beijing, according to a report which cited a source familiar with discussions.

The development comes after a Wall Street Journal report revealed that the White House is considering reducing tariffs to between 50% and 65%, down from the current 145% rate imposed by President Donald Trump since his return to office in January.
