A 26-year-old woman and her three kids drowned in a pond in Telangana’s Kamareddy district late Saturday. The deceased were identified as Monika and her children Vinay (7), Akshara (9) and Mythili (10). The tragedy took place when Monika was washing clothes on the bank while her kids entered the water to bathe.
“After getting into the water, the kids walked up to a spot where there was a pit. Unaware of this, they stepped into it. Soon, they began to drown and called for help,” a police official said, adding, “On hearing their cries, Monika tried to rescue them but drowned.”
